Below is a general guide of our daily routine although some of this can vary due to additional activities such as visiting the moat, doing PE in the hall and visiting the Key Stage 2 library.

9am: morning drop off at the Nursery entrance. A staff member will come out to the collect the children. We will sing our ‘are you ready’ song for the children to join the line, giving one last wave goodbye to their parent/carer before coming in. 

9-9.20am: the children will come in, put their bag and water bottle away (and packed lunch if they have one) and do their vote for story time with adult support. After this, they will ‘get busy’ and explore the provision inside. 

9.20-9.35am: we will tidy up and come together on the carpet to do a hello song and our learning focus. In September we focus primarily on getting to know each other and building confidence in the new environment. As we move throughout the year we begin focused learning activities such as Maths, Phase 1 Phonics, Dough Disco and Squiggle While You Wiggle. 

9.35am-11.15am: the children will transition to ‘busy learning time’ where they explore indoor and outdoor provision and learning through play. From 10-10.30am we will provide a rolling snack. 

11.15-11.45am: tidy up time, story time and washing hands/toileting for lunch time. 

11.45-12.30pm: lunch in the hall (packed lunch or hot dinner) 

12.30-1pm: outdoor play 

1-1.20pm: come together for our carpet time learning focus. 

1.20-2.30pm: ‘busy learning time’ indoors and outdoors. 

2.30-3pm: tidy up time and getting ready for home time.
