I am an Early Years Teacher with four years experience working with children ranging from 2.5-5 years old. I have always been passionate about working within the Early Years and believe children’s curiosities should be encouraged and that learning through playful experiences is extremely important to give them the best start within education. I am very excited for this opportunity to create what I believe will be an excellent Nursery. I feel that having the Nursery within the school provides great advantages for a child, as it allows them to socialise with older children and makes the transition between the Nursery setting and Reception a smooth and exciting journey.

I am originally from Germany and have been living in the UK for the past 22 years. I did my training in childcare while living in Germany and I have experience of working in a German nursery and hospital. I have been caring for the elderly for 15 years before deciding to take the opportunity to explore working with the younger generation again. I completed my level two in early years. I have been working at Stapleford school for 4 years now and enjoyed working 1:1 with children with special educational needs and am delighted to now be part of the team at Stapleford Nursery.

I am excited to be working in Stapleford Nursery and look forward to playing and working with the children who join us. I have been a childcare professional for over 20 years working in the UK and overseas, in various roles and environments (education, health care, hospice) with children aged 0-16. I started as a Nursery assistant and have returned because I believe ‘children are the future’ and I strive to nurture, enable and support them in their all-round development; providing them with opportunities, choices and experiences that incorporate their interests and curiosities at any given time. I thrive on working with, observing and contributing to their learning within the nursery setting. I strive to support them in their development of verbal and non-verbal communication, developing abilities and confidence to interact with other children. I love to encourage children to use various mediums to express themselves such as painting, sound, building bricks, material and even mud; the messier the activity all the more fun!
