Daily reading and regular times tables practice play a crucial role in supporting children’s progress and confidence across the curriculum. Reading at home helps to build fluency, deepen understanding, and develop a rich vocabulary, which are essential foundations for learning in every subject. Similarly, knowing times tables securely allows children to tackle more complex mathematical concepts with ease and accuracy. This is especially important in Year 4, where children take part in the statutory Multiplication Tables Check at the end of the year. A few minutes of focused practice each day can make a significant difference, helping children to feel well prepared and to achieve their very best.
